This probably isn’t the amazing answer you’re looking for…. but just be honest. Anything else would only lead to more problems in the future. Keep in mind your friend’s feelings but don’t lead him along. He deserves to know how you feel. It’s probably awkward for him once you let him down, so be the bigger person and take the steps towards showing him that you can still be friends. He’ll most likely be embarassed and ashamed, and maybe even afraid that he ruined the friendship. Be the one to show him thats not true by being the same friend you’ve always been. Hope that helps!
